Abstract
Management of relapsing or refractory immune reconstitution inflammatory syndromes (IRISs) despite corticosteroid therapy is yet to be defined. We describe three HIV-infected patients with corticosteroid-dependent and life-threatening paradoxical immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome for whom thalidomide treatment induced rapid clinical remission and permitted complete corticosteroid withdrawal without clinical relapse.Entities:
