Abstract
Using low doses of local anesthetic, ultrasound guided multiple nerve blocks were performed in a high-risk patient. Surgical anesthesia was provided in an ASA III classified patient who received ultrasound guided right femoral and bilateral popliteal blocks. Using 80 mm needle, blocks were performed using a mixture of 10 ml 0.5% levobupivacaine and lidocaine 2%. Femoral nerve block was performed using 10 ml of levobupivacaine 0.5%. Visualization of nerves by ultrasound guidance increases block success rate and contributes to lower local anesthetic doses. Using lower doses of local anesthetic during ultrasound-guided blocks allows multiple blocks to be performed safely.Entities:
