Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To study the water-soluble chemical constituents of the flower buds of Lonicera macranthoides.
METHODS: The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by means of chromatographic techniques and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.
RESULTS: Six compounds were isolated and identified as trans-linalool-3,7-oxide-6-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside(1), secol oganoside(2), secoxyloganin(3),chlorogenic acid(4), caffeic acid(5), sucrose(6).
CONCLUSION: Compound 1 is isolated from nature as a single compound for the first time, compounds 2-3 are isolated from this plant for the first time.
