Abstract
In the last 25 years deep brain stimulation (DBS) has increased the therapeutic options as well as the pathophysiological understanding of movement disorders (MDS) to an unforeseen extent. This paper covers the state of the art of DBS treatment of Parkinson's disease, tremors, dystonia and other rare forms of MDS and gives an short overview of the mechanisms of action of DBS.Entities:
