Abstract
Eosinophilic colitis represents a seldom known syndrome characterized by peripheral blood eosinophilia, eosinophilic infiltrates of the gut and abdominal pain. Whereas an association with autoimmune disorders or with food allergy is described, the etiology of the disease remains uncertain. A case report, where the spontaneous benign course of the disease is shown, is presented and discussed. In the clinical practice it is important to evaluate this syndrome in the differential diagnosis of abdominal pain and peripheral eosinophilia in order to avoid unnecessary therapeutic measures.Entities:
