Abstract
A chemosensor is reported with high sensitivity and selectivity for detection of fluoride anion. The recognition mechanism is attributed to a fluoride-triggered disruption of the hydrogen bond between imidazole and naphthalimide moieties, resulting in a noncoplanar geometry with low fluorescence.Entities:
