Abstract
Isolated avulsion fracture of the index finger metacarpal is rare. There have been only a few noted in the English literature. A review of literature shows that these injuries occur as a result of avulsion of the tendon of extensor carpi radialis longus. In our report we present a case of such an avulsion injury where the proximal fragment was pulled about 2 cm down. The patient was treated conservatively with early mobilisation.Entities:
