Abstract
Large outbreak of bloody diarrhoea complicated by haemolytic uraemic sundrome (HUS) has been observed in north Germany since May 2011. Epidemy spreaded throughout Germany and other countries and ceased at the end of July 2011. The WHO and German authorities confirmed that this epidemy was related to infection by new, unusual enteroaggregative Shiga toxin/verotoxin-producing Escherichia coli 014:H4 strain.Entities:
