Abstract
Literally, bimaxillary protrusion means the protrusion of the two maxillae. This concept masks the real orthodontic problem of dual incisor proclination (DIP). In an attempt to clarify the identification of DIP a study has been made of biological norms for incisor proclination. In the Nigerian population, DIP is defined as occurring when the intercisal angle is of or less than 108 degrees. On this basis the prevalence of DIP was recorded as 20 per cent. Approximatively three-quarters of persons with DIP had a skeletal 1 antero-posterior jaw relationship.Entities:
