Abstract
BACKGROUND: Involvement of the celiac axis by pancreatic tumors of the body and tail is no longer considered an absolute contraindication to resection. In highly selected patients, resection is possible, relying on collateral circulation through the gastroduodenal artery to maintain liver perfusion.
