Abstract
BACKGROUND: There is very limited evidence on the health consequences of human trafficking. This systematic review reports on studies investigating the prevalence and risk of violence while trafficked and the prevalence and risk of physical, mental, and sexual health problems, including HIV, among trafficked people. Characteristics of included papers (n = 19).
The quality appraisal instrument (see Text S4) has 15 questions. Papers received a score of between 0 and 2 for each question, giving a maximum total score of 30. Scores for two sub-domains—the quality of studies' sampling strategies and the quality of measurements—are presented alongside the total quality score. Scores for other sub-domains are not shown.
