Abstract
With the introduction of curvilinear endosonoscopes, endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) has achieved the role of a therapeutic modality as well as diagnostic procedure. EUS-guided tumor ablation is one such therapeutic modality. Various techniques of EUS-guided tumor ablation have been described, including radiofrequency ablation, photodynamic therapy, laser ablation, and ethanol injection. Most of the currently described techniques are experimental. Development and continuous improvement of devices, as well as establishment of indications for EUS-guided tumor ablations, are mandatory.Entities:
