Abstract

A new colorimetric molecular probe based on a 4,4-difluoro-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza-s-indacene (BODIPY) dye selectively binds Pb(II) ions in aqueous solutions, allowing for highly sensitive naked-eye detection.
