Abstract
Intact mycelium and protoplasts of Penicillium notatum were shown to take up manganese ions by an energy-dependent, high affinity uptake mechanism. Uptake was not inhibited by a range of divalent metal ions including Mg2+, indicating that manganese uptake by this process was specific.Entities:
