Abstract
The overwhelming majority of pineal region tumors are malignant germ cell tumors, pineal cell tumors, or glial tumors. To our knowledge we report the first patient with myeloid sarcoma in the pineal region. Myeloid sarcomas are composed of immature granulocytic precursor cells and are associated with acute myelogenous leukemia. Thus, myeloid sarcoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of pineal region masses in patients with a known history of acute myelogenous leukemia.Entities:
