Sir, The report on Nd:Yag laser-assisted liposuction versus liposuction is interesting.[1] Goldman et al. concluded that ‘the subdermal laser-assisted liposuction using a 1,064 nm Nd:YAG laser achieves improved skin tightening’.[1] There are some concerns on this conclusion. The evaluation method in this work is rather subjective (such as by photograph comparison) and might imply bias. The process for the inclusion and selection of the case has to be carefully considered. The better results might be due to biased selection of the cases. Indeed, many previous reports showed no additional significant usefulness of adding laser.[23] Finally, the cost of the approach should have been presented. Nd:Yag laser-assisted liposuction is bound to have more unit cost and might not be more cost effective.
