Abstract
A 12 year-old boy presented with neurological symptoms and was found to have a left atrial myxoma. Characteristic facial skin pigmentation raised a suspicion of Carney complex, a rare autosomal dominant disease, which includes cutaneous changes, atrial myxomas and neuroendocrine tumours. The boy's mother had similar skin pigmentation and on subsequent cardiac echocardiography she was found to have left and right atrial myxomas. Both mother and child underwent successful surgical resection of the myxomas.Entities:
