Abstract
Jugular vein thrombosis (JVT) is extremely difficult to diagnose clinically because of its rarity, the wide range of possible symptoms and the variety of differential diagnoses. A rapid diagnosis is important in order to avoid or prevent imminent life-threatening complications. This study reports a clinical case of extensive JVT due to increased thrombophilia in conjunction with ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) after in vitro fertilization, increased APC resistance and immobilization. It also discusses the current literature that forms the basis for recommendations regarding the diagnosis, therapy and interdisciplinary management.Entities:
