Abstract

BACKGROUND: Gluten ataxia is a known cause of sporadic ataxia. CASE: We report the case of a patient with imbalance and no abdominal symptoms diagnosed with gluten ataxia. Her neurological symptoms responded to gluten-free diet.
CONCLUSION: Gluten ataxia should be considered in all patients with sporadic ataxia with or without abdominal symptoms, as early diagnosis and treatment may result in neurological improvement.
