A brief history on the development of ophthalmic retinal photography into digital imaging.

Abstract

A brief review is given of some of the important historical developments in ophthalmic imaging from Victorian times to the 20th century, and looks at the prospects of digital imaging as an alternative to conventional photographic methods of recording.
