Abstract
Spinal intramedullary ependymomas often harbor clinically asymptomatic intratumoral bleeds. Such tumors presenting with apoplectic events have not been described in the literature. The authors report on a 2-year-old female who presented with sudden loss of sensorimotor functions below the thoracic spine as a consequence of hemorrhage within an intramedullary ependymoma. The clinical, radiological, and surgical findings are described. Gross total resection provided near-normal spinal functions in the present case.Entities:
