Abstract
We determined serum interleukin-2 (IL-2) levels between schizophrenic patients with (n=45) and without tardive dyskinesia (TD; n=45) compared to normal controls (n=50). TD patients had lower serum IL-2 levels than non-TD patients, but higher IL-2 levels than normal controls. IL-2 was associated with the negative symptoms of schizophrenia, but not with TD severity. Immune disturbance may be involved in the pathophysiology of TD.Entities:
