Abstract
We report a complication related to the use of trypan blue during capsular staining of the anterior lens capsule during phacoemulsification surgery. In phacoemulsification surgery of the left eye, trypan blue was injected using an air bubble technique. Unintentionally, trypan blue was administered under high pressure, dispersing the dye through the zonules leading to staining of the posterior capsule. This caused a temporary disturbance of visual acuity during the postoperative period.Entities:
