Abstract
The presence of a sublethal amount of apramycin, the aminoglycoside antibiotic used as a selectable marker in transformations of Saccharopolyspora erythraea with pKC505 and related plasmids, was found to suppress phenotypically the S. erythraea eryB25 and eryB26 mutations blocking erythromycin biosynthesis in this organism, probably by the effect of mistranslation.Entities:
