Abstract
A gene coding for a major extracellular chitosanase was isolated from Aspergillus oryzae IAM2660. It had a multi-domain structure composed of a signal peptide, a catalytic domain, Thr- and Pro-rich linkers, and repeated peptides (the R3 domain) from the N-terminus. The R3 domain bound to insoluble powder chitosan, but it did not promote the hydrolysis rate of the chitosanase to any extent.Entities:
