Abstract
It is estimated that in Italy there are about 4 million migrant workers, accounting for 10% of total workforce. They are heavily involved in the so-called "3D jobs" (dangerous, dirty and demanding/degrading). The available data, from literature as well as national official sources, show an overall higher risk of occupational accidents in migrant workers as compared with the natives and a relevant prevalence of occupational diseases, with an increasing trend in the last few years. Within such a framework, Occupational Physician is clearly called to play a proactive role.Entities:
