Abstract
PURPOSE: Adiposity has been thought to be related to colorectal carcinogenesis. The aim of this study was to explore any association between obesity factors and the presence of colorectal adenoma, a potential precancerous lesion. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Two hundred and six consecutive patients undergoing colonoscopy without colorectal cancer were enrolled in the study. Anthropometric measures and other adiposity-related laboratory variables including insulin resistance and serum adiponectin levels were recorded and correlated with the presence of adenoma.Entities:
