Abstract
Mandibular fracture is a common injury and generally treated with or without surgery depending on the case. Diagnosing mandibular fracture may be difficult because of its location and anatomic characteristics. This article presents a case of an unusual split mandibular fracture after an episode of seizure in a patient with epilepsy. This fracture was missed on routine radiographs; however, it was visualized by three-dimensional computed tomography (TCT). The TCT is crucial and should be mandatory for all suspected mandibular fractures instead of routine radiography. The diagnostic efficacies of panoramic radiographs, digitized radiographs, and TCT scans are discussed for the diagnosis of mandibular fractures in this case report.Entities:
