Abstract
This case report describes a patient with respiratory distress, myocardial dysfunction, elevated troponin level, ECG changes and pulmonary oedema secondary to new onset diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). This case may be unique, but it is possible that less severe cases occur and are underappreciated in the paediatric setting. This report demonstrates the need to closely evaluate and monitor cardiac function in patients with DKA.Entities:
