Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects on health and kidney function of local implantation of commercial gentamicin-impregnated collagen sponges. Four healthy dogs were submitted to local surgical implantation of collagen impregnated sponges. Follow-up with serial physical examinations and measurements of serum creatinine, urea nitrogen, and gentamicin were performed for 7 d. There were no adverse reactions, or changes in measurements of kidney function.Entities:
