Abstract
BACKGROUND: Escherichia coli, the main bacteria found in recurrent urinary tract infections (UTI), is now frequently resistant to several currently used antibiotic treatments making new solutions essential. After 72 h of infection, the C. elegans were washed and ground, and dilutions of the resulting suspension were plated on selective media. The number of CFU per worm of the different strains alone or in combination was calculated. Three replicates were performed for each bacterial combination. E. coli NECS978323 was the strain used in the study. It was used as control (without treatment). No statistical difference could be demonstrated
