Abstract

A concise and efficient total synthesis of (±)-cephalosol has been completed (5 steps from known ester 5, 39% overall yield), featuring a Cu(II)-promoted haloisocoumarin formation and sequential Suzuki cross-coupling/intramolecular oxo-Michael addition.
