Abstract
Acetylcholine esterase inhibitors block cholinergic neurotransmission. This blockade can be reversed by oximes. However, a universally effective esterase reactivator does not exist. A new H-oxime, HLö 7, was tested on rat diaphragm strips. Electrically evoked contractions were blocked by di-2-propyl fluorophosphate (DFP), tabun, sarin and soman. Whereas pralidoxime, obidoxime and HI 6 reversed the blockade induced by three of these organophosphorus compounds, HLö 7 restored the contractions after short blockade induced by all four organophosphorus compounds tested.Entities:
