I would like to thank the readers for their increasing scientific contributions to Lung India. Readers and authors cannot be dealt with separately, because most of the readers are authors. The recently published issues of Lung India had authors from almost every corner of the world. The varieties of articles and presentations have been improving day by day. We are now receiving Letters to the Editor, commenting on a published article, from across the globe. This reflects the rising interest of readers and enthusiasm in judging articles from their own perspective. It can be considered as a post-publication peer review process, which in many ways is important for the growth of a journal.This has led to an increase in the difficulty of choosing between different types of good articles. Issues like plagiarism, authorship and methods in scientific writing are being covered by us on a regular basis.[1234] The aim of these articles is to stimulate young authors to adopt fair practices when it comes to preparation and presentation of scientific research. An original article is the backbone of a scientific journal. You are requested to contribute more original articles so that we have an opportunity to choose better scientific studies.The peer review process adopted by Lung India, like most other standard journals, is double blinded. Both the authors and the reviewers do not know the identity of each other. Most of the Lung India reviewers are international faculty. Reviewers have to devote much attention and time to assess an article. Therefore, you are requested to prepare your articles with proper attention to all the minor details. For example, most of the authors do not pay attention to the writing style of the references. We want to bring to your notice that providing accurate references is the sole responsibility of the authors.The editorial team is particularly cautious about the duration for which the manuscript stays with us before final decision. It all depends on the quality of your presentation, availability of the desired files, for example, good quality figures, and so on. The clarity of answers in response to questions posed by the reviewers is equally important. It has also been seen that when the quarterly issue is prepared, authors do not reply appropriately to the comments posed by the publishing team during revisions in the author proofs. This leads to unnecessary delay in publication of not only your article, but all other articles in the issue. The publication process is a shared responsibility. Besides the reviewing, publishing, and editorial teams, you are one of the most important pillars of this process.
