Ultrasound manifestations of hepatocellular carcinoma.

P D Kamin, M E Bernardino, B Green.

Abstract

The ultrasound patterns of primary hepatocellular carcinoma are described. Three types were found: a densely echogenic mass, diffuse disease, and a mixture of the two. These three patterns correspond to the previously reported angiographic and pathological manifestations of disease. The differential diagnosis is discussed.
