Abstract
The talus is a bone uncommonly affected by avascular necrosis (AVN) [1]. Factors such as trauma and pre-existing inflammatory arthropathy (particularly with concomitant steroid use) increase the risk of development of AVN. We report a case of resolution of Stage I AVN, diagnosed clinically and on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), treated successfully by percutaneous core decompression of the talus. An MRI 12 weeks post-operatively showed complete resolution of the appearances of AVN.Entities:
