Abstract
Thrombocytopenia is frequently observed in intensive care medicine, and it is associated with increased mortality. The causes of thrombocytopenia are manifold and several conditions may occur simultaneously so that an exact correlation with a single etiology may be difficult. The present case report demonstrates the importance of an appropriate pathophysiological and clinical consideration in order to avoid misdiagnoses and inappropriate management.Entities:
