Abstract
The case is reported of a 47-year-old man with a history of chronic renal failure, treated with peritoneal dialysis, who presented with acute sacroiliac joint pain secondary to a pelvic abscess. Initially a diagnosis of infectious sacroiliitis of the left sacroiliac joint was suspected, but following investigation a pain referable to the sacroiliac joint was suspected. The patient recovered with a combination of antibiotics for the pelvic abscess and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.Entities:
