Abstract

Well defined, pure hexagonal-phased NaYF(4):Yb(3+),Er(3+)/Tm(3+) microtubes and microrods were first prepared by a facile and mass production molten salt method without using any surfactant, which offers a new alternative in synthesizing such materials and opens the possibility to meet the increasing commercial demand.
