Influence of location on a good death.

With the recent emphasis of the Department of Health on reducing unnecessary hospitalisation at the end of life and improving community care for people dying at home, it could be assumed that dying at home is the gold standard. However, healthcare professionals should be able to give a patient choice over where they die, whether that is at home, in hospital or in a hospice. This article asks the reader to consider whether location of death has an influence on the quality of death.
