Abstract
This commentary addresses the recent paper entitled "Dynamic correction of artifacts due to susceptibility effects and time-varying eddy currents in diffusion tensor imaging" (Truong et al., 2011) and discusses their findings in relation to previous studies from the late 1990s that showed equivalent findings regarding the complex time-varying nature of eddy currents during the imaging readout. The similarities between the findings from these studies are highlighted, and their possible implications for present commonly used eddy current reduction methods are discussed.Mesh:
