[Spontaneous rupture of extensor pollicis longus in isolated trapeziometacarpal arthritis].

T Apard1, L Marcucci, J Jarriges.

Abstract

A spontaneous rupture of the extensor pollicis longus (EPL) tendon occurred in a patient with trapeziometacarpal arthritis. We hypothesize that a mechanical attrition by protrusion at the trapeziometacarpal joint alone was responsible of a spontaneous rupture of the extensor pollicis longus tendon. Copyright Â
