Abstract
Dermatologists are occasionally faced with the problem of appropriate systemic drug administration to the lactating or pregnant woman. The physician's responsibility is to be aware of the potential risk of prescribing a specific therapeutic agent, to inform the mother of this risk, and to administer an alternate, less deleterious drug, if available. The purpose of this review is to provide guidelines for dermatologists who must consider the risks to the fetus or neonate of drug administration to the pregnant woman or lactating mother.Entities:
