Abstract
BACKGROUND: Various digestive tract procedures effectively improve metabolic syndrome, especially the control of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Very good metabolic results have been shown with vertical gastrectomy and entero-omentectomy; however, the metabolic effects of an isolated entero-omentectomy have not been previously studied.Entities:

Comparison of BMI between the preoperative period and at 3, 18 and 36 months after surgery, expressed as means and standard deviations. Based on ANOVA with repeated measures, there is a significant difference between the initial BMI and the 36-month postoperative BMI (p = 0.0039).
