Educating staff nurses on diabetes: knowledge enhancement.

Abstract

Evidence-based practice education of staff nurses has the potential to improve knowledge and ultimately the care of hospitalized diabetic patients. The value and knowledge enhancement of a diabetes education program for nurses working in a Heart and Vascular Institute in an academic medical center is described.
