TheBuilding and Housing Register.

Gunvor Christensen1.

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: The Building and Housing Register (BBR) provides opportunity to carry out research on individuals' housing condition over time. The register was established in 1977. CONTENT: The main variables in the register are high-quality variables and it is possible to match key entry variable and CPR-number identifying individuals. VALIDITY AND COVERAGE: There has been made alterations of definitions of some of the key variables and there is a data break in 2005. From 1994, data make longitudinal analyses possible.
CONCLUSION: Analyses based on data from BBR are valid and may provide knowledge about individual housing paths over time.
