Abstract
A pet rat derived cowpox virus strain, which was also the source of human infections, was used to infect young Wistar and fancy rats. After an incubation period of 6 days the animals developed a severe, often fatal disease with high amounts of virus detected in oropharyngeal secretions.Entities:
