Abstract
This article examines the ethical issues that arise in relation to restraint in mental health, dementia care and stroke care. The themes can, however, be applied to all areas of healthcare. The article also discusses how "four quadrants" of practice situations--medical indications, patient preferences, quality of life and contextual features--can be used to analyse three different restraint situations.Entities:
