Abstract
In 13 of 23 patients with multiple sclerosis, studied with computerized tomography (C.T.) the lateral ventricles were found to be enlarged. In 10 cases sharply demarcated areas of low density were seen in the periventricular region, presumably representing 'plaques'. Cerebral atrophy was more frequent in those patients with a longer duration of the disease, with more exacerbations and with a greater degree of disability. Some areas of low density on C.T. scans correlated with clinical symptoms.Entities:
