Direct exfoliation of graphene in organic solvents with addition of NaOH.

Abstract

We report a facile method for the production of graphene sheets through the liquid-phase exfoliation of graphite in organic solvents with addition of NaOH. NaOH was found to be intercalated into the interplanar spaces of graphite, and greatly improves exfoliation efficiency up to 20 times. This journal is © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2011
